On Wednesday afternoon, Kanye West went on an epic Twitter rant.

Highlights include him posting photos of his house, calling it the "sunken place" (which Kim Kardashian responded to by reminding him they'd agree not to post photos of the house), along with lots of incoherent, semi-philosophical rambling.

do this look like the sunken place 😂

But the biggest stir was caused by a tweet supporting President Trump, in which he said the president was his "brother" and that they are both "dragon energy."

You don't have to agree with trump but the mob can't make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone. I don't agree with everything anyone does. That's what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought.

Trump retweeted his tweet, saying, "Thank you, Kanye, very cool!" In a particularly meta move, Kanye retweeted a photo of Trump retweeting his tweet on his phone.

Kanye then also tweeted out a photo of his signed MAGA hat, followed by a screenshot of Donald Trump retweeting his MAGA hat photo with the caption, "MAGA!"

Kanye's blatant support of Trump lost him quite a few celebrity friends and followers, as The Weeknd, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Harry Styles, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, and Kendrick Lama, and others unfollowed him in droves. But the massive tweetstorm also got widely mocked on social media and late-night television.

In a Wednesday night segment, Stephen Colbert joked that Kanye had "lost his mind" and that he should lobby for a new job as the White House communications director under the name "Kellyanne Kanye." Elsewhere, Twitter users joked that Kanye was "clearly off his meds" and that dragon energy was the best euphemism they've heard yet for cocaine.

Kardashian has previously shown that while she may not always agree with her husband's erratic behavior, there's no way she's going to stand by and let people bash her man.

In a series of compelling tweets, Kim slammed the media for being "so quick to label him as having mental health issues for just being himself when he has always been expressive."

To the media trying to demonize my husband let me just say this… your commentary on Kanye being erratic & his tweets being disturbing is actually scary. So quick to label him as having mental health issues for just being himself when he has always been expressive is not fair

— Kim Kardashian West (@KimKardashian) April 25, 2018

She admonished the media for reporting on his "mental health" instead of the announcement that he had parted ways with some business partners.

Yesterday it was announced that Kanye had parted ways with some business people and media outlets made this about Kanye's mental health. Rather than just a simple business decision. So I'm glad he tweeted about the state of his company and all of the exciting things happening

"He's a free thinker, is that not allowed in America? Because some of his ideas differ from yours you have to throw in the mental health card? That's just not fair. He's actually out of the sunken place when he's being himself which is very expressive," she wrote, indicating that the "sunken place" is Kanye's euphemism for depression, not his nickname for their house, as his tweets may have made it seem.

She then addressed the problematic Trump tweets, saying, "Now when he spoke out about Trump… Most people (including myself) have very different feelings & opinions about this. But this is HIS opinion. I believe in people being able to have their own opinions, even if really different from mine. He never said he agrees with his politics."

"Kanye will never run in the race of popular opinion and we know that and that's why I love him and respect him and in a few years when someone else says the same exact thing but they aren't labeled the way he is and you will all praise them! Kanye is years ahead of his time," she wrote.

She concluded her defense of her husband with an important message: "Mental Health is no joke and the media needs to stop spitting that out so casually. Bottom line."

Whatever you may think of Kanye West, or Trump for that matter, it's endearing to see someone so fiercely defend her husband, while also making an important point about how society views mental health. Especially since it hasn't exactly been a great season for celebrity marriages.
